Please use the following information as a guideline as to which additional parts to order. The part number for the replacement motherboard is 200002189801.īecause of differences between the motherboards, replacing the original Kronos motherboard with the newer type will require changing some additional parts. Only this newer model motherboard will be provided as replacement parts.

This newer model is used in later production Kronos and KronosX series keyboards. The original motherboard (BLKD510MO) used in the KRONOS series has been superseded by a newer model (BLKD525MW). read that here yesterday.Īnd here's more info on replacing the original D510MO with a newer D525MW, with thanks to Mr.K for posting this. Service center stated there is no custom BIOS. I am not an expert, but my interpretation is that Korg do in fact apply their own custom BIOS and other modifications to the motherboard, Has anyone ACTUALLY done it with success? There's been a lot of talk about proprietary BIOS. Why is it so hard to get a definitive answer to a few simple questions?Ĭan you replace a Kronos mobo with either the original D510MO or the newer D525MW? I've read this entire thread and I'm still confused. That's what they did to my kronos fitted D525mw but they also had to change most of the internal wiring and memory. Korg USA Product support - (For fastest service I would suggest calling them on the phone)

(they support BOTH hardware and software) if your Kronos motherboard dies a Korg Service Center CAN fix it

Korg service centers CAN replace a defective D510MO motherboard in the Kronos with a D525MW motherboard Korg already knows D510MO motherboards are no longer available In the Kronos Service Manual, version 2.0, which covers Kronos and Kronos-X, there is a section that covers "Remodeling to change motherboard from D510MO to D525MW". Korg has this motherboard situation under control. That's not to say that it wouldn't be possible to replicate these changes to an OEM version, but doing so may not be trivial. I am not an expert, but my interpretation is that Korg do in fact apply their own custom BIOS and other modifications to the motherboard, and any variant purchased through retail chains will lack these modifications.

That means, only Full Box version of D525MW Essential works properly?

Of course, if a few days go by without any price change, the dream continues Some sellers will claim that they just slapped a goof price on, and will edit it back to reality later. There is a lot of that kind of silly pricing going on at Amazon. Location: Discovery Bay (San Francisco Bay Area) Just checked amazon int he states and someone has one for sale at a excellent price of 6999.99$ Someone has lost their mind!
